Oblivion Review

Yo, today is Oblivion starring Tom Cruise turn to be review.

Oblivion is a Sci-Fi film with Tom Cruise playing Jack Harper, a Drone Technician whose partner is Andrea Risoborough who plays Victoria; the film is based on the graphic novel of the same name written by the director himself, Joseph Kosinski.

The film is set in the future, 2077 to be exact and tells the story of planet Earth after an alien invasion, first they destroyed our moon and then they invaded us so our only hope of salvation were the nuclear weapons, this allowed us to win the war but we basically left Earth uninhabitable so humanity had to left the planet and went to the space station called the "Tet" and from there they went to "Titan" which is Saturn biggest moon; this is where Jack Harper comes into play, with the human race no longer on Earth is up to Jack and Victoria to protect the machinery that is extracting the remaining Earth resources from the few remaining alien forces, Jack and Victoria are not alone, they have the aid from powerful defense Drones which is the reason Jack is there in case some alien or "Scavenger" as they call them, messes the drones up.

That is the basic plot of the film nevertheless the film has some interesting and unexpected twists like any good Sci-Fi movie should, the budget was 120 million dollars unfortunately the movie doesnt really show it, the setting given the fact that is Earth after a nuclear war, is all sand, is a desert so dont expect beautiful surroundings with the exception of the "Skytower", which is the place where Jack and Vic live; some flight scenes even look like taken from a cut-scene from a videogame.

The acting on the other hand is very solid and very enjoyable, Tom Cruise always brings a fun performance and the rest of the cast has very unique personalities, unfortunately the performances are not enough when the script does not deliver, as a Sci-Fi lover i was expecting awesome action sequences but instead i got some very generic explosion and gun fights; as i just mentioned the script does not deliver like it should have the film at times moves very slow that it makes you wonder if thats all the movie has to offer, it is only during the second half that the movie starts coming to life presenting you with twists to the plot and make you wonder how it is going to end for Jack Haper but despite that once the movie is over you feel something  was missing.

Oblivion has Tom Cruise with a strong performance, interesting ideas that at times move to slow only to  cause confusion and scenes that drag the film only for the sake of wasting time, all of that make Oblivion a film with a nice set-up but falls short in execution. I give this a 7/10

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Review

Yo, lets get started with this review.

Naruto Storm 3 follows the story of the anime and manga and it begins exactly where Storm 2 ended, is really hard to describe precisely the story but basically Naruto is our main character and he is a ninja so we follow him in his journey in becoming a strong and reliable ninja and person while dealing with the now inminent Fourth Great Ninja War. 

Ultimate Storm does a fantastic job at telling this huge and heart-warming story but unfortunately beacuse it focus so much on the story the cutscenes become really long sometimes without any gameplay whatsoever some people may find that boring or tedious specially if you read the manga or watch the anime theres nothing new here, however the voice acting is superb and the graphics are very colorful and cheerful.

There are some fighting scenes to balance the cutscenes but the AI is almost everytime too easy to beat so the fight ends rather quickly only to lead you to another cutscene also worth noting are the incredible boss fights which are really fun and  have a very Devil May Cry style plus when you get to the point of a very important fight like Sasuke Vs Naruto this is when the game shows how amazing it can be, first you have to choose whether Legendary path or Hero path, the first one has a higher difficulty so it represents more of a challenge in contrast to the Hero path, depending on that decision the fight will go in a different course also you gain points which affect the items you carry, letting you carry more of them and unlocking more products for you to buy, the Legenday items are more offensive such as bombs and kunais and the Hero items are potions for your life and chakra; now it does not matter which path you chose, the story does not change and why should it? the story is already been told so changing events would have been out of place and unnecessary.

The gamplay is really simple some say too simple, every character has about one ninjutsu, one ultimate ninjutsu and three combos that involve the pushing of just one button and sometimes the left stick and is because of this that every single character feels almost the same when you play, this simplicity may be a sword of doble-edge, on one hand is easy to pick up if you are a newcomer but for the more veteran players the simplicity of the controls are a disappointment, that being said the controls do have some some depth in them and the fights involve some basic strategy,for example you have a very limited amount of "escapes" or substitutions you can do to get out from an enemy combo so you have to know when and how to use them nevertheless the complexity of the game mechanincs cant compare to other fight game like Dead Or Alive or Tekken, to name a few. On a more high note the list of playable characters go to 80 so its almost sure that anybody you cant think is in here.

Overall Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 is a game thats fun and really shines when played with friends, at the end of the day is a game that focus on fans so if you are a fan of the series then this game is worth checking out, if you are looking for a true epic experience then look somewhere else. I give this a 7/10

G.I. Joe Retaliation Review

Yo, Today im reviewing the new film and sequel of G.I. Joe.

Ok, so, G.I. Joe Retaliation is a sequel from the 2009 film; very early in the movie we see Channing Tatum and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in action stealing back some nuclear weapons from an enemy base, not ten minutes later our heroes base is under attack completely killing every one with the exception of Roadblock, "The Rock" character, and his squad, meanwhile on Washington the President Of The United States who is in reality is a Cobra memeber in disguise declares the G.I. Joes responsible for the attack and stealing (again) the nuclear devices, so now is up to the remaining Joes to clear their names and prevent a nuclear war between countries.

The movie is as to be expected fill with action and is worth mentioning that it was delayed so the 3D could be implemented, which apparently was a good idea not only because on the original date of release it would have been on the same opening weekend with some major blockbuster titles but because in only one week G.I. Joe Retaliation has earned an estimated amount of $132 million worlwide, the studio behind the film is really happy and they are already preparing for a third movie also in 3D.

Anyway, the plot of the movie is nothing we havent seen before and can even be call a "Cliché", our heroe(s) are framed of doing something they havent so now they have to clear their names and save the world at the same time, guess how that ends, right? ; on the other hand people dont watch this kind of movies because they are expecting an amazing plot fill with twists, this is an action movie so lets focus on the action and special effects.

G.I. Joe Retaliation has some amazing fighting sequences very well made and fun to watch, of course they are so over the top is hard to believe something like that will actually happen in real life but again the sole purpose of this movie is to entertein, the 3D helps bringing the film to a new level of enterteinment and when it works it works well; the performances are really solid and you can feel chemistry between everyone except for D.J Cotrona who plays Flint, i couldnt help to notice that he is rather useless through out the whole movie, he doesnt add anything special to the mix-up and his character just fell through the cracks.

Another thing that bother me a little is RZA as the Blind Master, RZA is a music producer and rapper, who lately has been doing some acting, "The Man With The Iron Fists" is a clear example, nevertheless his performance is not believable, just no.

In conclusion G.I. Joe Retaliation is a great movie to see anyday of the week, fill with original fighting sequences and overall strong and fun performances, its not a movie to be taken seriously just enjoy it. I give this an 8/10

Today is Person Of Interest , is a very good action pack show, revolves around the idea that the Goverment built a machine that spies on you everysecond of everyday in order to detect acts of terror but the machine detecs everything even small crimes, crimes that the Goverment dont care about so the main characters of the show tackle this small crimes. The Show is set in New York and is really worth watching.

Jack The Giant Slayer Review

Yo, today is the new movie "Jack The Giant Slayer" turn to be review.

Ok, so this movie comes in 2D and 3D, the later is a tiny little better and the 3D only really comes to life at the last 20 min or so of the movie and has a running time of 1hr 40min aprox.

The movie is a Hollywood take on the popular kids tale "Jack and the magic beans" ;the main idea of the film goes like this: Jack is in the market and gets into trouble by defending a young lady´s honor that turns out to be the princess who later in the night goes to Jack´s house in order to thank him then a big storm comes down and just so happens that some beans got inside his bag during the market incident this start to grow insainly quickly when are touched by water, a big plant stands in the place that now used to be his house taking the princess all the way to the top so now the King sends Jack and a group of knights to rescue the princess, without knowing what kind of danger is waiting for them on the top.

The film is very enterteining, and Nicholas Hoult (Jack) does a nice job playing a humble farmer boy, Ewan McGregor also brings a fresh performance, Stanley Tucci´s performance may come out too cliché and at times too exagerated but giving the fact that is a kid tale becomes understandable; my only real critique would be the ending ,without spoiling anything i will only say that it feels too rush, i was expecting some epic climax to the story.

Overall with good performances and a movie that shouldn´t be taken seriously "Jack the Giant Slayer" succeds at being a nice "weekend film" to watch in family, i give this a 7/10

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan Review

Yo, today i will also be reviewing this anime and eventually upload the episodes but in the meantime i will only post the link to a page in where you can download the episodes , the host is Media Fire so if you have a download manager you can download the entire series in about and 1 hr or so.

Ok, so where do i start? this anime is really different from the others, is a little old, its been out for awhile but it remains relevant even now; Gurren Lagan is essentially an anime with "Mechas", giant ass robots like the ones in Gundam Wing with the exception that the mechas here look like animals, yu know Transformers look like cars here they look like animals, anyway at the beginning of the story we meet a little kid named Simon, he lives in a small town underground, just like all the humans, yes for some reason the humans are bound to live underground forever with no sun or glimpse of the sky whatsoever, so what they do is they dig, they dig in order to expand their towns underground, Simon job is that and he comes with a treasure during his digging, a little drill that looks like a keychain, eventually he meets with Kamina a very energetic guy that acts like an older brother to Simon and his only desire is to go  to the surface and join his father in father adventure he is in so Kamina and Simon along a group of guys come uo with a really stupid idea to go to the surface long story short it didnt work out and Kamina got arrested and sent to jail, Simon on the other hand goes back to digging in order to find more about the drill he found, he then goes to kamina and rescue him from jail so he could see what Simon had found But a big eartquake comes and teared the "roof" of the city, a big mecha comes in or "Ganmen"  as the anime calls them, and starts making a ruckus, Kamina is a very brave guy and tries to face it but is not enough so out of nowhere a chick named Yoko comes out firing a sniper, Simon takes everyone to his finding wich ended up being a smaller version of a Ganmen, defeats the enemy big explosions and all and they end up on the surface.

That´s roughly the first episode, the anime focus on the Rebelion that Kamina starts against the human-beast(the ones piloting the Ganmen) so the humans can live on the surface again.

The anime is very very unrealistic, a lot of fantasy and silly attitudes, nevertheless is worth mentioning the fact that it has won several awards so people actually enjoyed this anime, but unfortunately im not one of them.

this is only MY take on the anime, there are three main characters, Yoko, Simon and Kamina, Yoko is very useless she does practically nothing throughout the whole series, she only uses a Ganmen about three times and shes not particulary outstanding at it, her rifle becomes harmless to the Ganmen at episode 3 or 5 and never cares about it, she becomes only the eye candy for the male audience wich is very frustrating giving the fact that there was potential for her; Simon on the other hand is better he is a very easily scared kid but he overcomes that very nicely, Kamina is very reckless and i didnt really care much about him, i like him but not enough to feel something genuine for him.

The anime has two arcs the first one goes from episode 1-15 and is focus on the rebelion and the second arc is from episodes 17-27 and is seven years after the rebelion, episode 16 being a mashup episode, once you start the second arc everyone is different is almost like watching a whole different anime, Simon is no longer a scared little kid and Yoko left town to do God knows what, this is where i realised how much i dislike this anime, with two of the main characters being left out the anime fell flat Simon alone cant carry the whole show, Yoko is "MIA" and when she comes back is almost the end of the series and again she is useless, the fighting scenes become so unrealistic and so stupid (a ganmen inside a ganmen inside a ganmen inside a ganmen?! really?!) , the side characters have no personality or very little of it that you dont even care who is who, the only thing that is good about the anime is the plot once you get the whole explanation.

Overral this anime is praised by many mainly because it gives the message "if you try your hardest everything is possible" and i agree with that but the way that is portrayed comes out as stupid and so over the top with characters that feel flat and useless i give this a 4/10.

Oz The Great And Powerful Review

Yo, whats up guys? so today im reviewing as the title suggest the new Movie "Oz The Great And Powerful"

You can call this movie a prequel from the worldwide know story of The Wizard Of Oz; the movie starts in Kansas in a circus in which Oscar has a magic act, yes Oscar is the real name of Oz then he gets into a little trouble and one thing led to another so he ends up inside a tornado which takes him to the Land Of Oz, he meets Mila Kunis character, a good witch with the power of fire; Mila kunis looks beautiful here and does a good job throughout the whole movie with of course some cliches parts here and there but its a kids movie so its ok, James Franco also does a great job portraying a cunning magician/ fake wizard.

The whole movie focus on the prophecy that a powerful wizard will come and free the Land from the evil witch But Oscar has no magic only tricks that look like magic plus he´s selfish and egocentric so he has to deal with the task of being this savior when he´s nothing close to it.

Also a thing worth mentioning is the cast of the movie is fiil with amazing actors/actresses such as Zach Braff, Rachel Weiz , James Franco, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams; one last thing is the 3D in the movie is nicely  done and worth paying the extra bucks specially if children are involve, this is the good 3D you want to see, this is the "in your face" 3D it really adds depht to the enviroments and makes you smile every time it happens.

Overrall the movie is set for a young demographic but it is also entertaining for adults, the acting is very credible, the effects are gorgeous, the running time goes almost to 2 hrs exactly and is worth watching, so i give it a 8/10

Yo, so that was my first Movie Review, i know im not the most bright writer out there but i will get better anyway im thinking maybe i should Upload Movies for you to download, i have a very large movie library and i have always wanted to do this sort of thing so i will look into this possibility.

Identity thief Review

Yo , so today im reviewing the movie Identity Thief starring Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy. Please know that this is MY personal opinion, you can watch it and judge by yourself.

The movie is pretty straight-forward Jasons character gets his Identity stolen in the first couple of minutes within the movie, Bateman does a pretty decent job coping and handling the situation, on the other side Melissa McCarthy character is so over the top and unfunny like the rest of the movie, Melissa is the thief so the whole movie is about Jason bringin Melissa to justice.

The movie plot is simple, a guy trying to get his identity back and thats it theres nothing more to it some other shit happens in between but is not relevant, the "jokes" are mainly one-liners painfully unfunny, the character Melissa plays is again so over the top is just not funny also the supporting characters are really forgettable and really cartoonish even at times they become frustrating and dumb to watch.

I was looking forward to see this film unfortunately it became so cartoonish it was impossible to enjoy, i give it a 3/10
